Preserving Our Heritage for Future Generations
The Tharu community has a rich oral tradition stretching back centuries. As the indigenous people of Nepal's Terai region, our stories, customs, and genealogical records have been passed down through generations by word of mouth. Today, the Ranmakha banshavali committee is working to ensure these treasures are preserved for future generations.
The Digital Archive Initiative
Our community website now hosts the complete banshavali genealogy document, making it accessible to family members across Nepal and around the world. This digital preservation effort ensures that even if physical documents are damaged or lost, our lineage records will endure.
Oral History Collection
Elder members of the community hold invaluable knowledge about our ancestor Ranma Kha, also known as Gaiya Baba. Their stories about the founding of our clan, the sacred shrine at Bairyahi, and the traditions that bind us together are being carefully documented.
How You Can Help
Every family has stories worth preserving. If you have photographs, documents, or memories related to the Ranmakha lineage, please reach out to the committee. Together, we can build a comprehensive record of our shared heritage.
